Family Support Network™ Charlotte provides support to families with infants and children who have special needs, developmental disabilities, and special health care needs in Charlotte-Mecklenburg.  All services are provided free of charge. 


Mission

FSN Charlotte believes the greatest asset a child can have is a strong family. Our mission is to provide support, education, and caring connections to families who have a child born prematurely or with special needs.  We are an organization dedicated to empowering families by providing parent–to parent support, information, and resources. 


History

Family Support Network™ Charlotte has been operating as an independent 501 c3 since 2007.  We are an affiliate of Family Support Network™ of North Carolina which is made up of 16 local Family Support Network™ programs across the state and the Family Support Program at the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Family Support Network™ of North Carolina was established in 1985 is affiliated with Parent-to-Parent USA, a national agency that sets the standards of evidence based and best practice for family support programs across the United States. FSN-NC maintains a basic commitment to a family driven service system, and to the recognition that families understand their own needs best.
